Wednesday 19th April and our second full day in the Zemplen Hills. Unfortunately for me, yesterdays bean soup was not being kind to my stomach so I stayed at the hotel for the morning - missing out on a Moustached Warbler!!!
Never-the-less, early afternoon, we were back in the hills at a Black Woodpecker nest. Hides set up with the nest half way up a tree so not easy on the neck muscles but that is the joys of wildlife photography.
Both the male and female came and went, taking their turns incubating.
with the male keeping a watchful eye on any activity outside the nest.
An interesting afternoon.
