Last Monday, 27th March, I decided to have a look at The Brecks. First call was to Santon Downham to see if I could track down the Woodlarks. Finally succeeded in finding one pair but they were very flighty so I was quite pleased with the photos I managed to get, although not earth-shattering.

Then moved on to another part of The Brecks to an area that a friend had found and photographed Goshawks. It was a mile off the beaten track, stayed there for a three hours or so - no Goshawks - in fact the only bird showing was a Kestrel. I did hear a Goshawk calling distantly when I was walking back to the car but that was the closest I got.

I then moved on to Weeting Heath to see how close the Stone Curlews were to the hide - still distant so nothing worth keeping. At another hide, there was two or three Bramblings coming in to the feeders but the light was terrible so nothing worth keeping there either.

So a disappointing day overall.

Anyway, this website is now back in operation although there will no more postings for a couple of weeks or so as we have visitors staying with us over and beyond Easter - it would be terribly rude if I disappeared with my camera, don't you think?
