27th October and bored so I went to the local RSPB reserve at Fen Drayton for a couple of hours. Anything of interest? No!!!!! I resorted to toking a shot of a Magpie - that shows desperation.

On the way home, a Buzzard was perched on a post and did not fly off when I parked the car allowing me a few shots.

Nothing more until 4th November when a friend and I decided to go to RSPB Frampton Marsh. There was nothing within camera range at either of the first two hides, surprisingly, but some remodelling work had recently been done that should improve matters eventually.

The longish walk to East Hide (well longish for a couple of pensioners) and the only birds of note were some Meadow Pipits that, for a change were not particularly flighty.

Returning to the other hides, a Little Grebe was now fishing close enough to be worth a few shots.

but that was the sum total from the hides - very disappointing.

Walking down to the sea wall, a few Lapwing were flying around.

and a male Stonechat finally posed.

Many others are also finding birding very hard work at present, and photography especially so. Lets hope matters improve.
