Lackford Lakes is well known for Kingfishers. I first went there in 2008 and managed  Rolex GMT-Master II replica some cracking images of a juvenile at perfect range from the Reed Hide.

This year, the pool at the Reed Hide was covered in weed so unsuitable for Kingfisher but at least one was apparently showing regularly and well in front of the Double Decker Hide so, like all bird photographers, I could not resist another crack at this most photogenic of species.

First shots were rather too distant for comfort so not worth keeping but after a couple of hours of waiting, one landed right in front of the hide.

Very obligingly it then moved to another perch.

Unfortunately, I couldn't manage good shots of it fishing as it always seemed to Rolex Submariner replica perch facing away except for one short occasion.

Nevertheless, a most enjoyable and fruitful afternoon - I must return again soon for those elusive images of a fishing Kingfisher.
