A flock of around 30 Waxwings had been reported feeding on berries on an estate in Oakington Cambs, jus a mile or so up the road for me. Weather quite bright for a change.

Flock found and started to come down from some nearby high trees to feed by the side of the street. The only place I could park the car meant I was facing East and just then, the sun came out making back/side lit images. Not ideal but far from impossible.

A Mistle Thrush decided to make an appearance but only stayed far a few seconds instead of the usual defence of the tree against allcomers.

A couple more shots of the Waxwings as they became more confident.

The flock then took flight after being spooked by a passing Sparrowhawk but a very enjoyable couple of hours, and right on my doorstep too!!!
