Last week was very cold for the time of the year and overcast too so there was little point in trudging around with a camera as there was nothing of real interest to tempt me out. However, that does not prevent my trigger finger getting itchy.
There was a sudden and unexpected influx of birds to my garden feeders. I was filling them replica watches uk up every day instead of 3 to 4 days with all the usual suspects - Goldfinch, Chaffinch, Blue Tit, Great Tit, as well as a family of Greenfinches - the adults showing the youngsters around. I just had to get the camera out.
The Starlings that nested in my roof had fledged too and cleared my peanuts.
but the most pleasing was a family of several House Sparrows visitng every day - a rolex replica species not seen in my garden or the area for several years.
and a pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers visiting several times a day. This is the male.
Two or three times a day, I had a male Bullfinch feeding on sunflower seed hearts but very shy and I failed totally to get a decent image.
This week, the weather is glorious and the activity on my feeders is almost non-existent. Also, we have family visitors for the week so I am unable to get out so there will be little activity on this blog for a time.
