Monday 3rd November 2014

Last Friday, I drove to Norwich to collect the Canon 7D MK2 from Wex Photographic that I had pre-ordered when it was announced. The indications were that it would be fro delivery mid November but I was surprised to receive an e-mail advising that it was in stock.

I hope to be able to test it this week and will report my findings then although just one day of testing will not really prove much. It is the higher ISO performance that will be important although I do not expect it to be on a par with the 5D MK3.

While in Norwich, I visited Strumpshaw Fen RSPB for a couple of hours. I was surprised to see that the scrape in fron of Fen Hide had very little water in it so nothing was close. A Common Snipe showed but too distant. The only bird of passing interest was a Black Swan (yes, I know it is and intriduced species) but when there is little else of interest, that will do.

So a few shots later.....

It then started to preen and call.

With nothing around, and being advised that the route home was choc-a-bloc (well it was the last day of the half term break), I made an early exit.
