Saturday 4th July 2026

This was a revisit as the previous visit to this site was in the afternoon and everything was in heavy shade. After a while, the sun moved round making photography worthwhile.

A surprise for me were Yellowhammers that visited on-and-off throughout the session.

The same pair of White Wagtails were busy collecting food for their brood in the nest, located in the roof of one of the two hides.

as were the same pair of Redstarts, busy taking food to the nest off to the right.

Nuthatches were almost constant visitors

but the main success was the Iberian Green Woodpecker, occasionally feeding in the sunlight and out of the heavy shaded areas.

So a busy morning but no change in the available species.
