I am busily preparing for a 2+ weeks trip to Spain but, yesterday, I was bored and needed to get out for a couple of hours.
My local reserve is Fen Drayton Lakes RSPB and a drive around the access road always used to turn up something of interest but, in common with many other reserves, rarely much of real interest lately. Still it was a pleasant way to get outdoors after just a short drive.
Nothing along the access raod but, looking across Ferry Lagoon, several pairs of Black-headed Gulls were claiming nesting sites on the pontoon but, no Common Terns. Eventually, a pair appeared.

In the car park, a dunnock preened and sang.

as did a Chiffchaff that gave me a very coy look.

And that was it. Not much to show for a couple of hours or so. Just three photos worth keeping.
I hope that my trip to Spain is more fruitful.
