Another visit to Fowlmere RSPB, albeit brief due to the weather.
A kingfisher was showing in front of the Reedbed Hide and frequently hovering. It showed within 10 minutes of my arrival and sat on a rather distant post and immediately showed it's disdain for my photographic skills!!!
It then redeemed itself by perching on a nearer branch in a reed bed.
It hovered on a couple of occasions but, by then, the light was beginning to go and there was insufficient contrast for the camera to focus. Better luck next time.
A Grey Heron made an appearance and I couldn't resist one more shot before being defeated by the light - and at only 3.15 pm. Roll on those cold sunny winter days.
