Thursday 12th March 2015

Last Tuesday, 10th March was a glorious sunny day, far too enticing to stay at home replica watches . Since returning from Hungary, I have been suffering from a virus and tied to the house - and there are only so many days that one can spend processing images from Hungary without feeling that the birding world is passing one by.

So I was up early (well for me) to go to West Norfolk. After negotiating the back roads around Hunstanton due to the coast road being closed, I arrived at Thornham, just after a very high tide. The Twite had left so I concentrated on finding something interesting from the usual birds around. Fighting Redshank

loads of Brent Geese flying around although distant

and finding that the autofocus on the Canon 7DMK2 really does hold focus, even with a busy background

Then off to Brancaster Staithe to see what was there. With the tide receding, various birds were bathing

more Brent Geese

the usual Turnstone

and then a strange Cormorant that I subsequently found out is the southern chopard replica european race sinensis (thanks James) - very striking.

After a late lunch off to Titchwell RSPB where the water levels on the fresh marsh were high to flood the islands to help the Avocets breed - but nothing at all in front of the hide so off to the beach. The low tide was just on the turn but the usual common stuff was showing nicely in the sunlight

and then a very obliging Grey Plover that just walked towards me to see what I was doing.

On the way back, I was surprised to see a drake Pintail not too far from the path.

and then further away, a few Red-crested Pochard

A Redshank was asleep but showing a near perfect reflection

and a flock of Teal were bathing tag heuer replica and feeding in a group in the evening sunlight.

Overall, a decent day for photogrpahy and a very enjoyable one in the sun. Now back to finishing off the photos from Hungary but that will take a few more days to complete.
