Whoever coined the phrase ????fest really started a craze that is seriously overdone these days.

Visiting Eldernell in the north of the county last Friday for the Short-eared Owls was definitely and replica watches Owl-fest. I had visited a couple of weeks ago and drew a big fat blank. Reports since then indicated up to 8 present but for the first couple of hours, there was nothing except for one lone Short-eared Owl that showed for a couple of minutes only

About 2.30 pm, the show started with up to 5 showing, some very close giving excellent opportuntities for photos.

One even gave the head on shot

A flypast of distant Whooper Swans gave a rather different shot

In total, over a couple of hours, I took nearly 600 shots and surprisingly, 150 of rolex replica watches themwere good enough to be keepers. This was down to the Canon 7D MK2. If the first of a burst of shots was in focus, the camera maintained focus throughout the burst. So any out of focus shots were purely down to operator error.

In the end, despite very heavy editing, I kept 80 of the shots although only a few are posted to this website. More images are in the Recent Additions section.
